Let it snow outside and on your screen

Hey it is Australian Open time. So I am watching tennis last night and really enjoying the start of new tennis season.....and the picture on my TV goes away. No sound/signal. Guess what it is snowing outside.

When it snows outside you are guaranteed to loose channels on coaxialcable. Now the good thing is that it doesn't snow much in Edinboro/Cambridge Springs. Oops...wrong!

That reminds me of a call I made to coaxialcable last winter. It is Saturday morning and I enjoy watching Fox soccer channel. Well the picture started pixelating and then totally went black. I called the service number and within 20 minutes I received a call back. I explained that there must be snow on the dish in Cambridge Springs and if they could please knock the snow off. The coaxial cable tech told me that he was just in Cambridge Springs and it wasn't snowing there.
I insisted and he said he would investigate.

Within 45 minutes the picture cleared up. Sometime later I received a phone from the tech saying "your should have reception now" (it was snow after all)
I guess he must not be from around here.

Finally it is kind of ironic that coaxialcable runs ads about how if you own a dish that you are susceptible to weather conditions such as snow. Seems like they haven't figured out yet how to deal with the white stuff themselves.

I found this topic of interest when I came upon it. My name is Walker Means, co-owner of Complete Wireless, Inc. in Edinboro. Many of you may know me, but if you don't, I would like to invite you to our store to see a demonstration of Dish Network satellite TV. We would be happy to show you another option besides cable TV service. Despite the advertising you may have seen, you WILL get local channels and local support if needed with satellite TV. We have hundreds of happy subscribers already in just 2 years of offering this service.

I am also a Coaxial Cable subscriber and HATE the new digital cable boxes. Not only were the remotes terrible, but the box was not compatible with my TiVo. If they don't switch their boxes soon, I'm switching to satellite (as have 2 of my other friends!)
